Kelli & Cody's Engagement | UW Arboretum, Pioneer Square | Seattle, WA

We began their shoot at the University of Washington's Arboretum. One of the Arboretum's designers gave Ryan a private tour of the grounds before the shoot — it was helpful to learn about the less-traveled spots. Then we headed to Seattle's Pioneer Square for dusk…and Pioneer Square delivered! It wasn't too busy (the Mariners were playing, but it was only the bottom of the 3rd). We found a beautifully-lit alley  that we'd shoot in any day! (We had to remove some trash cans in our editing process, but it was well worth it.)

We're enamored with what they gave us to work with, and we can't wait to shoot Kelli & Cody's wedding, coming up here soon!

Molly & Dennis' Engagement | The Parkway | Richland, WA

Shooting engagement photos really helps you get to know a couple — Molly and Dennis showed us their fortitude battling the frigid Tri-City temperatures! Seriously. It was cold. *Really* cold with the wind chill. We shooters wore huge jackets, hats, gloves, etc. But Molly was such a trooper — she wore a dress and open-toed shoes! (We hope she didn't suffer any symptoms of frostbite!)

We did have fun though. From a winery to the Parkway to the Richland Players theater, Molly & Dennis proved they were easy-going and amiable, making the best of the cold day.

Blanca & Tom's Engagement | Howard Amon Park | Richland, WA

Now this couple has no problems smiling. They are truly giddy with each other. And we love that they enjoy goofing around (it makes for great photos!). We took great advantage of the saturated fall colors, which suited them well: he played the guitar to her on a bench, and the autumn colors couldn't have complemented them better.

We can't wait for their 2014 wedding!

Andrea & Justin's Engagement | Zintel Canyon | Kennewick, WA

If you want to know how to handle an engagement shoot, talk with Andrea & Justin: they were relaxed, comfortable, and had natural smiles. We took them to Zintel Canyon in Kennewick, and to Chiawana Park Pasco, WA. Both proved to be excellent settings to capture the fall colors. And these huge Seahawk fans are getting their wish so far as the Seahawks have home field advantage leading up to the 2014 Super Bowl!

We're excited to be shooting their wedding on June 21st of 2014!

Blanca & Michael's Engagement | Secret Winery | Columbia Valley, WA

It was fun to meet these two by taking them to a winery where we have exclusive rights to photograph. (Sorry, can't tell you where!) They were quite happy to be together, and asking them to kiss wasn't a chore. Then it was off to take advantage of a train that hasn't moved in years, and then on to Howard Amon Park in Richland. Loved the light!

We're excited to shoot their wedding in 2014!

Andrea & Jerald's Engagement | Bookwalter Winery | Richland, WA

Here's a fun couple finding new life with each other. Andrea & Jerald are getting married at Bookwalter Winery in Richland, WA, so we got to shoot some engagement photos with them and their kids at the winery. They had lots of fun ideas — great signs and poses. The three kids, Lawrence, Joanna, and Tyler, were good sports, too! We're looking forward to shooting their wedding on June 21st of this year!

Robin & Justin | Engagement Photos | Wenatchee

When a storm approachers, take advantage! Robin & Justin are a couple of ambitious characters. (They'll get married after she's taken the bar exam!) They're both super-sweet together. They joke around, laugh, and genuinely enjoy each other.

We weren't sure if we'd get poured on by Ma Nature while we were in Wenatchee, but we got lucky and only had a few sprinkles. They were tons of fun to work with, and they were up for just about anything. (Yeah, she really got on the front of the bike and rode along.)

They'll be getting married sometime around August 2014, and we couldn't be happier to be shooting their wedding photos and movies!

Bridgette & Quinn | Engagement Photos | Richland Parkway

One of the things we love most about the Tri-Cities is its predictability. Sure, it's hot in summer (today was 108°!), but we know what the light will probably do. Eastern Washington is sun-drenched most of the year, so shade is often critical! Bridgette and Quinn look good in any light though — we back-lit them near Howard Amon Park and used flashes, diffusers, and bounces to make the most of it. The most important thing in a photo shoot is the smile, and they sure delivered — it's easy to do when you're in love! We're excited to shoot their wedding next September!

Amaris & Alex | Engagement Photos | Zintel Canyon Park, Kennewick, WA

What a beautiful afternoon engagement session in Zintel Canyon! This often-overlooked Kennewick park holds many looks in a small area — perfect for engagement sessions. Amaris & Alex gave us plenty to work with, too — far too much to show here. Alex is a baseball stud; check out their portfolio page to see more. We're stoked to be shooting photos and video for their wedding!

Suzie & Zane | Engagement Photos | Richland Parkway

Suzie and Zane are such a fun-loving couple, which made for an enjoyable engagement shoot. We started at the Richland Parkway then headed to the Columbia River to catch some great light. A gorgeous tree at Tangles hair salon (where Suzie works) happened to be in full bloom, so we stopped there for last-minute photos. We're looking forward to shooting their wedding in September!
