The day began with a bit of stress — At St. Joe's in Kennewick, the wedding before Kevyn & Eddie's looked like it was running an hour late! But the priests did well to move things along, and everything else went according to plan. The extra time provided us more photo opportunities, so we didn't complain. Terra Blanca, as always, provided a multitude of different looks for photos. The Benton City vineyard has stunning views and somehow manages to avoid the worst of the Tri-City winds. Kevyn & Eddie had a gorgeous getaway car, and gave us loads to work with at sunset. So fun!
Becca & Will | Wedding Photos | Connell United Methodist Church | Connell, WA
Thunderstorms and near-record heat weren't going to stop Becca & Will from tying the knot! These die-hard Coug fans had a WSU garter, and the reception was held in a "GO COUGS" farm shed. We knew these two were meant for each other when they admitted that they won't play tennis together: they get too competitive! The wedding at the Connell United Methodist Church went well despite being at capacity in the sanctuary. The minister had told us we couldn't move or use flashes during the ceremony, so it's at these times when we're thankful we have awesome equipment!
We lucked out on light — not only did the thunderstorms stop in time, but the clouds provided a wonderful backdrop. We're excited to share their day!
Bridgette & Quinn | Engagement Photos | Richland Parkway
One of the things we love most about the Tri-Cities is its predictability. Sure, it's hot in summer (today was 108°!), but we know what the light will probably do. Eastern Washington is sun-drenched most of the year, so shade is often critical! Bridgette and Quinn look good in any light though — we back-lit them near Howard Amon Park and used flashes, diffusers, and bounces to make the most of it. The most important thing in a photo shoot is the smile, and they sure delivered — it's easy to do when you're in love! We're excited to shoot their wedding next September!
Amaris & Alex | Engagement Photos | Zintel Canyon Park, Kennewick, WA
What a beautiful afternoon engagement session in Zintel Canyon! This often-overlooked Kennewick park holds many looks in a small area — perfect for engagement sessions. Amaris & Alex gave us plenty to work with, too — far too much to show here. Alex is a baseball stud; check out their portfolio page to see more. We're stoked to be shooting photos and video for their wedding!
Suzie & Zane | Engagement Photos | Richland Parkway
Suzie and Zane are such a fun-loving couple, which made for an enjoyable engagement shoot. We started at the Richland Parkway then headed to the Columbia River to catch some great light. A gorgeous tree at Tangles hair salon (where Suzie works) happened to be in full bloom, so we stopped there for last-minute photos. We're looking forward to shooting their wedding in September!
Proposal Caught on Camera: CJ & Ross' Inspirational Story
Ross has cystic fibrosis and wasn't supposed to live past 16 — he just ran a marathon at 29. The Proposal Ross proposed to his girlfriend, CJ, as they crossed the finish line together at the Wenatchee Marathon. I happened to be in the area and saw him on bended knee — as a wedding photographer, I had to capture the moment. It took a while to track them down — his race number helped!
1° of Separation We've learned that CJ had worked alongside Emily at Kadlec Hospital, AND she takes Emily's aerobics classes. Then we learned that CJ took dance classes with my sister! (By now you should have "It's a Small World" running through your head.)
Go-Forward What strikes me about them is their unflinching go-forward attitude. He may have Cystic Fibrosis (CF), but that doesn't keep them from living now. CF causes breathing difficulties, yet he's finished a marathon. (CJ says Ross "kicks ass at life.") And these best of friends will be married soon.
We hope they are an inspiration to you, too.

We are so excited to be shooting the wedding of the sister of one of our former brides. Brianne and Justin were such a great couple with great smiles, we got super lucky with the weather in early March and had a wonderful time during their engagement session at a vineyard near Benton City!

Amy & Colt's Wedding | Anthony's Banquet Center | Richland, WA
This loving couple provided us the opportunity to get footage from so many locations! Richland Parks, Terra Blanca Winery, Meadow Springs Country Club, Anthony's Banquet Center, and a couple amazing houses. In the end, we had over 1,000 camera clips to work with! firefly BLU has exclusive access to a secret winery in Benton City. Because Amy & Colt had us all day, we got to take them there and take advantage of some amazing scenes.
Amy & Colt also had the largest bridal party we've seen in a while — about 30! You really get the sense they're well-loved with so many people supporting them.
After the short ceremony, they partied on at Anthony's. Then lots of dancing, followed by a sparkler-laden exit. It was an unforgettable day, from start to finish.
