Breanne & Ben | Wedding Movie & Photos | Promise Garden | Pasco, WA

We love shooting military weddings…and Breanne & Ben both serve in our armed forces. (Did you know we provide military discounts?) Breanne and Ben are both even-keeled, but Breanne also have a lovable quirkiness about her. We enjoyed Ben's loving speech to his new bride, where he praises her for having a "mischievous twinkle" in her eye. Now that's a couple who can go the distance!

Promise Garden in Pasco provided the picturesque backdrop. Many details on their grounds means we have more to shoot — which we love. We took the guys to Chiawana Park to knock out the portraits, but otherwise we stayed at Promise Garden. Pizza Hut catered — it was fun to see so many pizzas in one place!

Alicia & Jason | Wedding Movie & Photos | Sawyer House | Yakima, WA

Alicia and Jason complement each other like no couple we've seen before: she's loquacious and outgoing, while Jason is quiet. But they share traits as well: they're both kind and think of others before themselves. We love shooting weddings of selfless people! Their venue, the Sawyer House, is listed as being in "Yakima," but some people referred to it as being in Zillah, and even Wapato. Wherever we really were, we were happy to be shooting there! Surrounded by orchard, this venue is perfect for small or large weddings: it never feels too big or too small. And the owners were so accommodating to us! As you can guess, we see all kinds — and they're among our favorites.

Platinum Entertainment provided their usual awesome DJ services. Fiesta Mexican supplied thousands of tortillas for their amazing tacos and burritos.

Bridgette & Quinn | Wedding Photos | Shadowlake Ranch | Prosser, WA

This couple is stunning. Lovebirds for a long time, it was our honor to capture their fun — and uniquely "them" — day. We'd shot their engagement photos, so we already knew their wedding would be relaxed and enjoyable for their guests. And Shadowlake Ranch in Prosser somehow forces everyone to slow down a bit. (The 100° day didn't exactly speed people up though.)  Pacific Pasta & Grill treated everyone to a fine array of food. (One of the perks of being a wedding photographer is the food…even though we end up scarfing it down to limit downtime!) And we weren't disappointed that they insisted we visit the s'mores table before we departed.

Bridgette, a nurse, was unfortunately sick on her big day. But she's a trooper and made the absolute most of it. We're thrilled for them and hope to shoot for them more in the future! (No pressure, but we do baby photos too.)   :-)

Monica & Matt | Wedding Photos | Mill Creek Gardens | Walla Walla, WA

Monica and Matt may seem reserved when you meet them, but they're down for anything. Heck, the day after the wedding we shot Monica's "Trash the Dress" session! We'd scoped out various water-based locations on the Columbia and Yakima rivers ahead of time and settled on a secret location along a local river (sorry, we're not sharing — it's too good!).  Mill Creek Gardens is one of those rare venues that's quaint without being run down. The place is kept very clean, and the access to the creek behind provided opportunities for wedding photos themes we'd never gotten before. Monica and Matt didn't let us down, hopping across rocks to get into the perfect spots we had in mind.

Chandra and Traci from Simplified Celebrations did their usual amazing job, providing a multitude of details that really made their day special.

We're fortunate to see Monica occasionally when we shoot corporate events for Bechtel. We hope to see them both more in the future!

Kim & Nolan | Wedding Movie & Photos | Terra Blanca | Benton City, WA

Terra Blanca weddings remain among our favorites: this Benton City venue boasts loads of greenery with many looks in a relatively small area. So it worked fine for Kim and Nolan to have us for just 7 hours since they weren't moving to a new location for the reception or photos.  Here's a case where opposites attract: while Nolan is reserved, Kim is whimsical and spirited. And we love their dichotomy. Nolan was Mr. Cool, and Kim sang to the camera!

Sami & Tino | Wedding Photos & Movie | Tacoma, WA

Sami & Tino know how to party. From the family fireworks in Tacoma the day before, to the zip lines and ropes course at Northwest Trek, filming them was a blast! We were fortunate to capture their engagement photos, where we took them to shoot pool (watch out for Tino — he can hustle you!), share an awesome sundae at Rosie's Ice Cream Shop in Richland, and wade through the Columbia River.

And for the wedding, this was our first shoot in Buckley, WA. Tracy Castle provided a perfect setting, adding a touch of class. And it made for awesome aerial establishing shots — you've got to see their movie to see what we mean!

Krista & Jeremy | Kennewick First Methodist | Kennewick, WA

Krista & Jeremy are a genuinely sweet match. We are always excited to shoot photos for those serving in our military. (In fact, we provides discount for active military personnel.) They held to the tradition of not seeing each other prior to the ceremony — at least half-way. Jeremy, in his military attire posed blind-folded next to Krista for few special photos.

Her princess fairytale dream came true as they said their vows at the Kennewick First Methodist church. They exited the ceremony through the traditional gauntlet of saber-wielding marines. Her hospitable parents then hosted their guests at their home in Kennewick for the reception. We wish this happy couple all the best!

Andrea & Justin | Wedding Photos | Prosser, WA

Andrea & Justin are a memorable couple. Their laid-back personalities made for some fun photos — like posing with ballerina topiaries! From Justin's lip-synched serenade during the first dance to Andrea's soccer game — in her wedding dress — they are quite the distinctive pair. Yellow Rose Nursery in Prosser provided a colorful backdrop, including a cascading waterfall for the ceremony and reception.

The day was made more special with her brother as their officiant. It was great to see them at Molly & Dennis' wedding, too! We hope to have the opportunities to hang out with them in the future.

Brianne & Justin's Wedding | Carol Allenbaugh's House | Finley, WA

We had the fortune of doing Brianne & Justin's engagement photos. We were thankful to be shooting their wedding photos as well: they're such an entertaining couple. Due to a scheduling mixup, the ceremony started about half an hour late. (Really, though, isn't that par for the course anyway?) Ed Daily did a great job officiating, as always. We don't think we've ever seen a groom happier to see his bride walk down the aisle to him. It was an emotional ceremony — plenty of waterworks to go around.

We'd been concerned about weather issues the entire day, as it had been incredibly stormy the day before. It ended up only raining once: while getting their dinner, the umbrellas finally had to come out for the bridal party; it rained for a paltry ten minutes. They capped the night off by dancing with glow sticks — a fun trend in weddings lately.

Kathryn & Matt's Wedding | West Richland, WA

Kathryn & Matt chose her aunt and uncle's house as their wedding setting. The lighting was challenging, but the couple was cute as could be. You could see the look of anticipation as the moment built toward their reveal — the "first look." The first look is what we recommend to couples instead of having the reveal postponed until the ceremony. Sure, there's something to be said for the grandeur of waiting, but there are many benefits to seeing each other beforehand: it's more relaxed, you can allow more time for photos, and you're not making your guests wait while you complete your numerous couple, bridal party, and family photos. They were certainly relaxed, and we always appreciate that!
